Hrus Partners (license no. 414), on behalf of our client, a well-established holding group company, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GDPR Officer and Legal Assistant to join their team. The role creates a bridge between compliance, legal operations, and data protection, ensuring that the company mitigates legal and regulatory risks and Data protection principles are embedded in business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
GDPR Officer:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with GDPR and Cyprus data protection legislation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s data protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for new projects or systems.
- Train and advise staff on data protection responsibilities and best practices.
- Respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) and other inquiries.
- Liaise with the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection as needed.
- Maintain records of processing activities and report data breaches in compliance with GDPR timelines.
- Advise management on data protection risks, including contractual and technical measures
Legal Assistant:
- Responsible for managing the full cycle of internal corporate secretarial duties for Cyprus entities. It requires daily management, record keeping, and operational proficiency within the Zygos administration system to ensure seamless regulatory compliance.
- Maintain company registers, filings, and legal documentation in compliance with Cyprus Companies Law (Cap. 113).
- Draft, review, and format contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and provide summaries on relevant Cyprus law and regulations.
- Assist in corporate governance matters, board resolutions, and shareholder communications.
- Support the legal team in dispute resolution, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with government authorities as required.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of legal matters and ongoing cases.
- Assist in creation, updating, implementing the Company Policies and Procedures in coordination with relevant departments.
- Visiting various authorities in Cyprus to facilitate and support Company business and operation.
Requirements:
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- Fluency in Greek and English (both written and spoken).
- Solid understanding of corporate governance and legal documents.
- Good knowledge and practical experience in GDPR compliance and data protection regulations (academic or professional).
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Zygos administration system.
