Overview
The role does not require day-to-day executive involvement, but it does require sufficient time commitment to discharge duties effectively, including Board and Committee meetings, regulatory oversight, and preparation.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Provide independent judgment and an external perspective, diversifying the thought processes of the Board, in line with FSA requirements.
- Be able to provide challenge in a constructive manner, contributing towards the development of the Company’s strategy and regulatory obligations.
- Demonstrate an ability to foster an environment of mutual respect and open communication between the Board Members.
- Monitor and scrutinize management’s performance against objectives and regulatory standards.
- Serve on key Board Committees as required.
- Commit adequate time to Board duties, with thorough preparation for meetings and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
- University Degree in Law, Business, Economics or any other relevant field.
- Holder of ICA or CISI certificate.
- At least two years of Managerial experience within the Financial services industry
- A Director should not have any business or close family ties with other members of the board or shareholders, or any other material relationship with the company that by its nature may affect his or her independent and unbiased judgment.
