The NOC Support position at an international voice and SMS carrier is a vital role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's global network infrastructure. This role involves 24/7 network monitoring, utilizing a ticketing system for incident management, proactive issue resolution, documentation of processes and incidents, and expertise in networking, VoIP, and SMS. The candidate for this junior position should be adaptable to working in a 24/7 environment, be able to work under pressure, collaborate effectively with a team, and relevant certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor international voice, SMS, VSAT, TDM, and VoIP links to maintain network availability and performance.
- Respond to network incidents, alarms, and outages according to established procedures and protocols.
- Utilize a ticketing system to log and track network incidents and service requests.
- Ensure timely response to incidents, document resolution steps, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Take proactive measures to address network anomalies and performance issues.
- Implement preventive actions to reduce incidents and enhance network reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Update network diagrams and documentation to reflect changes and improvements.
- Leverage knowledge in networking, VoIP, and SMS to enhance the monitoring and management of network services.
- Troubleshoot and analyze network issues, taking traces for SIP, SS7, and SMS flows.
- Analyze network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Proactively detect and investigate irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic.
- Monitor the status and performance of network equipment and assets, ensuring their optimal functionality.
- Oversee interconnections with customers, ensuring efficient voice and SMS traffic exchange.
- Analyze network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Proactively detect and investigate irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic.
- Capable of working in a 24/7 environment with a flexible schedule.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, working under pressure when necessary to resolve network incidents and deliver continuous service.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field is a plus but not mandatory.
- While experience is a plus, this is a junior position, and candidates with limited experience are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
- Knowledge of VoIP and SMS technologies.
- Experience with ticketing systems for incident tracking and management is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues and analyze traces.
- Excellent documentation skills to maintain records of incidents and processes.
- Effective communication for incident reporting, coordination with team members, and providing updates.
